I can’t believe this was almost 14yrs ago. Dave’s aunt gave me a still shot from this session. Jaws is a monster break! I love watching him getting barreled, but the pic I have is probs 1 of the biggest waves I’ve ever seen him ride. So powerful, yet still has that Rasta vibe❤️💛💚

In my sleep I was having nightmares that there was barbwire in a surfing spot in the ocean and I got stuck in the barb wire whilst my friends where watching me do areal manouvers out surfing!!! I woke up thinking of how I think obviously that everywhere in Australia and the world is intensity landscaped into a seemingly safe place for humans, but since doing surf Life saving training as a child regularly I allwase know the ocean conditions can change completely and my like mind allwase gets visions and memories thinking of how different and more full of giant crevasses and underground caves that everywhere including the coast would be if it wasn't all completely sculpted by humans!

I remember riding down the UP skate snake at age 10. I think I had the worst Pic n Save Makaha board in Irvine. I still rode the snot out of it though.

I guess there's some stuff missing in the title...The biggest wave ever caught...by paddling in...at Waimea? Laird Hamilton and his buds had already been riding bigger waves--by tow-in and paddle-in--since the 1990's at places like Jaws. Hamilton's famous ride at Teahupo'o in 2000 might have been bigger than this.
